BOA,
I lived in Las Vegas for three years and being involved with the Betty’s was the best thing that could have happened to me. I always looked forward to meeting new people & seeing longtime friends at all of our parties, walks, hikes & picnics. I miss it so much!

HI,
Please extend our thanks to the Board and especially to Kathy and Coreen for arranging and hosting such a good picnic. It was a great location, clean, flush clean toilets close by, good seating and overhead protection and good clean grills.......our kind of "camping". The kite flying was really fun and the food very nicely set up. It's a lot of prep work and we appreciate the time and effort that went into it.

Thanks again,

Avril and Janice

Firesong & Poet On Watch

Hi;
Just wanted to write a brief note to let you know how the caroling session went on Sunday. From my perspective, this was probably one of the most rewarding experiences I've had in years. Our first stop to the children's hospital brought joy to lots of little kids and tears to the eyes of almost every caroler. The Oncology Ward did it for me. My heart went out to each of those children and their parents, and I was glad that we could bring some signs of a "holiday spirit" to those there. Our next stop at the nursing home was equally fulfilling. Although some of the folks needed their afternoon naps, a number of folks there were singing along and clapping, enjoying what little fun we could bring to their day.

Our last stop at the rehab center was, again, a heartwarming, fun experience for us all. We even had our "groupies", three folks that followed us throughout the facility in their wheelchairs. They were obviously very happy we were sharing some holiday spirit with them.

We ended the afternoon with a great meal at Jason's Deli, and a good time was had by all. Hats off to Katie, who made the arrangements at the various facilities and enabled us to go from place to place without a hitch.

Thanks to all who participated in making this such a fabulous event for me. I went home feeling like I had really accomplished something, and I'm sure the rest of the gang felt the same.

Happy holidays,

Marge
