Ladies, August was a great month with all the fun in the sun pool parties. The Betty’s would like to thank those ladies that opened their homes to us, so that we could have those pool parties. We’d like to thank Michele and Cheryl for their hospitality and their generosity; everyone had a great time. Please be sure to join us for one last summer pool party This Labor Day at Michele’s place!
With summer vacations coming to an end and getting ready to settle into fall and winter, what better way to start it off with a speed dating event. This will give all you single ladies out there a chance to find that special someone that you want to snuggle with on the couch, during those chilly months ahead. So, jot down those questions that’ll help you get to know someone better and join us for speed dating at Mango’s. Don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten those of you that already have that special someone in their lives, after speed dating that night, we have a dance that we would love all of you to join us at as well. We look forward to seeing you that night at Mango’s, whether it be for speed dating, the dance or both, we’re sure you’ll all have a great time!

SATURDAY, SEPT 4TH - Brandi Alyse in concert. Meet Brandi inside the Freakin' Frog, 4700 S. Maryland Pkwy., to get seats and watch our very own "Betty" as she rocks the house down with her own renditions of Janis Joplin and other classic rock icons. This is a FREE event but you must be 21+. Brandi will be performing from 8:30 until 10:30 so get there early, grab a good seat, eat some food and enjoy one of their delicious drinks.
SUNDAY, SEPT 5TH – Labor Day Pool Party and Potluck with Michele and Lisa. Join us for Labor Day as we combine Lisa’s monthly potluck and a pool party at Michele’s. She lives in a beautiful gated community in the northwest side of the valley and has a fabulous yard and pool. The party is from 3pm until ??, and limited to the first 40 women who RSVP so hurry, write to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Please bring your favorite dish to share, something to BBQ (if you want), whatever you want to drink, your bathing suit, and a towel. No pets, kids or glass containers by the pool please.
TUESDAY, SEPT 7th – Beginning Sign Language. Join Chris, April and Autumn for a beginning class on American Sign Language. We’ll start off with finger spelling, learning how to sign your name and some basic signs. The class is FREE and will be held at The Center, 953 E. Sahara Ave. Ste. B-31 from 6pm until 8pm. Sign language is one of the most widely used languages in the world, don’t miss your chance to learn how to communicate with our deaf sisters.
SUNDAY, SEPT 12TH- Westside Coffee Social with Crystal. Meet Crystal at Barnes & Noble in Boca Park, 8915 W. Charleston, at 11am for stimulating conversation, journaling and to meet new friends.
SUNDAY, SEPT 12TH –Temptation Pool Party at The Luxor with Tami. Party with Tami at The Luxor’s Temptation Pool Party from 1pm to 7pm. FREE admission all day if you if you mention the Bettys. You must be 21+ yrs. and look for the Bettys’ Banner.
TUESDAY, SEPT 14TH – Betty Board Meeting. Everyone is welcome to join in with the Betty Board as we plan our events for next month and go over Betty business. Our meetings begin at 6:30pm and are held at The Center, 953 E. Sahara Ave. Ste. B31. Please drop by we love to hear your ideas! If you’re interested in joining the board this is the place to start…
SATURDAY, SEPT 18TH - Hot Flash Dance. Join The Bettys for a Hot Flash Dance, Come as you AREN’T night. If your butch you come as femme and if your femme, you come dressed as a butch. Ladies, just imagine your butch girls with eye make-up and your femme divas without, could be a freaky night for all. Ladies are you too old for the 20-something club scene but way too young to stop dancing? Hot Flash Dance Parties will take you back to the 70s and bring you forward into the 21st century with a mix of 65% retro and 35% contemporary music. For ages 21 to 81, they’ve got it all… The party goes from 6pm until 10pm at Piranha Nightclub, 4633 Paradise Road, with a $10 cover charge.
SUNDAY, SEPT 19TH - Brunch with Cindy. Join Cindy T at The M Resort in front of the Studio B Buffet at 11:30am. This buffet has a little bit of flavor for everyone’s taste buds. The M Resort is located on South Las Vegas Boulevard at St. Rose Parkway, easy access from the I-15 and 10 minutes from McCarran Airport. For those who are like me and need to Map Quest everything, the address is 12300 Las Vegas Boulevard, South Henderson, NV 89044.
TUESDAY, SEPT 21ST - Meet author RITA MAE BROWN. Join Cindi at the Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Rd., in the main theater at 6:30pm to grab a seat and listen to acclaimed lesbian author Rita Mae Brown, "Rubyfruit Jungle", "Six of One", "Animal Magnetism", and her newest novel "A Nose for Justice", talk about her books and afterwards for a book signing.
THURSDAY, SEPT 23 – Line dancing at Charlie’s with Kathy. Meet the girls at the back bar in Charlie's at 7:30pm for a night of line dancing and fun with The Bettys! Lessons start at 7pm and the party goes until we drop. Charlie's is located at 5012 S. Arville St., 876-1844. (just south of Tropicana).
SATURDAY, SEPT 25 – Bettys’ Speed Dating. Join us for our 6th Speed dating event! This time we’ll be dating in the beach area at Mango’s (formally Boomerangs) at 6650 Vegas Dr. (at Rainbow). We’ll be enjoying a drink or two at 6:30pm and begin dating at 7pm SHARP! You MUST RSVP to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to attend this event, NO WALK-Ins! The cost is $10 per person and will include door prizes and admission to the STEAM Dance Party immediately following. There’s food available and a cash bar. Come out and meet the woman of your dreams or at least make a new friend or two!
SATURDAY, SEPT 25 – STEAM Dance Party. Immedately following our Speed Dating event we’ll be having our 2nd annual STEAM Dance Party. The dance is open to all Bettys (couples & singles) it’ll start at 9:30pm and goes until 1am. Admission is only $5! So kick your shoes off and join us in Mango’s beach area and help us say good-bye to summer! Mango’s (formally known as Boomerangs) is located at 6650 Vegas Dr. (at Rainbow). There’s tons of parking, on site security, reasonably priced bar food, and great music!
SUNDAY, SEPT 26 – Art Museum and Lunch with Cindi. Meet Cindi at noon at the Gallery of Fine Art box office in the Bellagio. The museum is now featuring “Figuratively Speaking” this survey features more than 40 paintings, photographs and sculptures along with video installations by 29 artists whose traditional and contemporary perspectives on figurative art helped to define the genre in the late 19th, 20th and early 21st centuries. Admission is $12 for NV residents and $15 for other adults. We’ll be going to lunch afterwards at the Café Bellagio.

Volunteer to help the ASANA
In Nov. over 2500 women softball players (mostly lesbians) will be coming to town for the ASANA World Softball Series and they need volunteers! The more Bettys we get to help the less they will charge us to place an ad in their program, help us spread the word about the Bettys and help the ASANA… oh and meet tons of women softball players!!!

Ever thought about getting more involved in your community? Ever think about meeting lots of women? Be a Betty Event Host and do both! We need more volunteers to host Betty events…. It’s fun, it’s easy and you meet lots of women! It’s fun--- pick something you enjoy doing and invite The Bettys along. It’s easy--- just let us know what, where, when and how much. Meet others who have your same interests and make new friends! Events Hosts can easily go on to be a Betty Board member and help us organize our dances, picnics and much more!
